i’m up waaaaay too early to leave for cambridge, ma and the society of new communications research 2009 symposium and awards gala.
in an earlier post i asked whether professional organizations are even worth it anymore. i’m still on the fence about this, but i don’t see how one makes up one’s mind without checking out the options. so, off i go to see what sncr’s all about. (after having recently written about the horror of acronyms, i do snicker every time i write theirs.)
who makes it up? what are they inspired by? will they inspire me?
i am intrigued by the lineup. so far, so good.

I’d be real interested in how much the audience (and the speakers/contributors) have embraced the new media tools for communications. Will they have a twitter back channel – will their be youtube videos – will someone be live blogging? Will they have big screens with the twitter hashtag stream, etc.
Their application of the “new communications” tools would tell me more than the content of the individual sessions. Inquiring minds want to know.
Paul – you can check out all the tweets about the event with the hash of #sncr. We had a LOT of conversation going on via Twitter during the Symposium – as we have had for the past few years. And we’ll be posting video and the presentations of the sessions as well as interviews with the awards winners ASAP on sncr.org – thanks for your interest – Jen McClure
Hi Fran, Interested to know what you think about this group… Interesting premise.
