This bill is definitely a start. It's not perfect, but it gets the ball rolling - status quo just wasn't cutting it, no pun intended.

"arbitrary premium hikes, insurance cancellations, and discrimination against pre-existing conditions will now be gone forever."

I pay for healthcare on my own, at ~$400 per month, despite being offered it for free through the VA due to serving in the Marine Corps. Why? Because I don't do free lunches.

I ask, however, why my premiums have went up 200% over the last 3 years - I mean, I'm 6'3", 215 lbs at ~7% bodyfat . . . with no health concerns whatsoever. I bike 40 miles a week, lift weights 4-5 days per week,, don't smoke, have a glass of wine or two a week, eat chicken/turkey/fish over red meat, and much prefer healthy salads instead of McDonald's . . . yet my premiums have ballooned through the roof. Why?

The Healthcare system is broken - I'm not saying this bill is perfect, but c'mon, anything is better than where we're headed.
