what do you do to unwind?

when i get frazzled, i know exactly how to tackle it: i change my physical environment. sometimes that means literally changing my physical environment. i’ve moved my office furniture more times than can be counted by modern man. other times it means changing my scenery. i’ll hit the pavement until i adjust my attitude or remove a block. i push further and go farther when the need dictates. there was that morning, for example, i awoke in a funk, came downstairs and declared that we’re driving to the lower east side (two hours, each way) right now.

knowing that wooded weekends are my panacea, and perhaps as a sanity-saving maneuver, rob scouted this barn about two years ago. i preemptively book it before any new symptoms of agita make themselves known, and we head up to hike, canoe, and eat funky-smelling cheese and straight-from-the-cow ice cream.

these strategies reduce my stress and let me be focused, productive, and, oh yeah, pleasant. what works for you?

exercise (in the most rigorous dance form) typically does it for me. all things nature, in a somewhat similar manner you portrayed, also does the trick.

i don’t know where i’d be without exercise. probably out in the cold, thrown out by my family.

no nagging dishes or laundry. it’s the best. what do you do on a day-to-day basis?

I surround myself with music. It’s on all the time…at work, at home, walking around, in my head.
