the average american's soda consumption

the wellness digest is delayed due to hosting woes yesterday. it’ll be up tomorrow. today i want to share an article from mark bittman about taxing unhealthy foods.

you can ask what this has to do with employers. the answer’s pretty simple: plenty of them are left holding the health care bills stemming from our junk food consumption.

That’s not me at all. And, what I notice is that the longer I don’t drink sodas, the worse they make me feel when I do on occasion. I also took them out of my teenage son’s diet (at home at least) with no complaints. Replaced with the old standard water.

it’s not me either. i used to drink diet coke quite a bit, but I dropped it many moons ago–not for health reasons. i just didn’t like it. what i really enjoy is hearing from my clients’ employees who’ve given up soda. they talk about how much they don’t miss it, how much weight they’ve dropped, how much they like water. it’s rewarding to be a small part of that change.
